Dr. Harb immigrated to the United States in 1985 to pursue his academic goals. He began by studying English in Boston, MA, before transferring to San Jose, CA, in 1986. As an immigrant, Kamal not only understands the struggles that many immigrants face, but also deeply cherishes and appreciates the opportunities and privileges that come with having lived in America as an international student and an immigrant.
Kamal Harb, M.P.H., Ed.D., has dedicated the past 27 years to promoting public health and wellness within higher education. He has served as adjunct faculty at City College of San Francisco, a health educator at San Francisco State University, and senior director of health promotion services at the University of San Francisco.
Most importantly, Dr. Harb has been a mentor and coach to students on a wide range of health and wellness topics, career development, healthy relationships, and life skills. Many of these individuals, some of whom have faced significant challenges, have gone on to become medical doctors, physician assistants, nurses, health educators, and other professionals.
